Cane disperso per alcuni giorni salvato sulla riva del fiume
Nella contea di Lawrence, in Pennsylvania, qualche giorno fa un cane si è smarrito. Per qualche giorno nessuna notizia del disperso, e questo ha fatto preoccupare i ricercatori ma soprattutto la proprietaria.
Brenda Osborn, la suddetta proprietaria, appena notata la scomparsa del cucciolo ha immediatamente allertato le autorità locali. Le ricerche sono partite nel giro di poche ore e gli agenti le hanno condotte per alcuni giorni, senza riscontrare nulla.
Fino a quando un certo Darrell Perkins non ha segnalato la probabile posizione del cane, di nome Ginger. Il tutto è accaduto nel mentre che Darrell stava salendo sul suo furgoncino parcheggiato vicino la riva del fiume, per andare a lavorare.
A quel punto l’uomo ha sentito l’ululare di un cane e, seguendo il suono della richiesta d’aiuto, ha trovato Ginger.
All’arrivo dei soccorsi il cane non se la stava passando proprio bene, anzi, il fango e le cattive condizioni salutari rendevano il recupero difficoltoso.
Questi fattori non hanno impedito a Johnny Rickman di effettuare un gran salvataggio, grazie anche all’aiuto delle imbracature di sicurezza. L’uomo si è calato con attenzione verso la riva scoscesa del fiume ed ha salvato il cane.
Ginger ha fissato per tutto il tempo il suo eroe, come se avesse intuito la situazione, tutti erano li per lui, per vederlo salvo. Dei testimoni hanno registrato un video dell’operazione di recupero, che mostra bene le cattive condizioni generali.
Well I certainly have had an eventful day what had happened is that my sister and brother-in-law's little dog from next door has been missing since Friday and we just knew she was dead somewhere but this morning I was getting in my van to go to work and I hear a lot of howling it sounded like it was coming from the other side of the river but by knowing that Ginger was missing I thought I would investigate as I walked the River Bank I found Ginger stuck in the mud and in Creek Water next to the river she she had been there since Friday I'm thankful that the river hadn't raised a couple feet or she would have drowned I didn't know what to do so I called my neighbor Mitchell McCoy and I called Johnny Rickman the dog warden for Lawrence County he came right away. I could not have rescued the dog by myself the hill was too Steep and muddy and right against the river so with their help we got Ginger safely to the top and she is now at Tri-County Animal Clinic thank you Johnny and Mitchell for the rescue…..the video is of Johney bringing Genger up

Darrell Perkins, che la zona circostante la conosce abbastanza bene, scrive su Facebook alcune considerazioni sul recupero del cane. Per l’uomo Ginger è stato fortunato, perché l’acqua non si è mai alzata più di tanto e ciò gli ha salvato la vita.
I soccorritori alla fine hanno portato il cane alla Tri-County Animal Clinic per farlo curare, viste le ferite riportate sulla zampa. Nulla di grave fortunatamente, il cane riprenderà le forze e potrà continuare la sua vita.
